Je me suis intéressée tôt à la couleur et aux jeux des ombres et des lumières. Devenue esthéticienne et maquilleuse, j'ai exploré la création et je me suis amusée avec les harmonies de couleurs. J'ai expérimenté plusieurs médiums: la sculpture, le dessin, la photographie, la peinture à l'huile et finalement j'ai découvert l'aquarelle. Et quelle découverte! J'ai suivi des cours avec de nombreux aquarellistes professionnels et plusieurs membres du SCA. Étant enseignante en soins esthétiques, au début l'aquarelle me rappelait les fondus du maquillage. L'aquarelle est un médium qui surprend. On est pas tout à fait maître de notre œuvre. L'aquarelle est rebelle, l'eau s'amuse à nous faire découvrir de belles surprises; les couleurs et les lignes peuvent nous apparaître très différentes de ce que l'on avait projeté. Que dire de la transparence. C'est le charme de l'aquarelle et c'est surtout cette transparence qui m'a attirée. Mon style est figuratif, l'imaginaire s'intercale avec la réalité.

Mon défi : Approfondir cet art, me perfectionner et surtout me faire plaisir. Peindre c'est me faire un cadeau.

Early, I got interested in colour and light. As an aesthetician and make-up artist, I explored creation and colours. As an artist, I experimented many mediums; sculpture, drawing, photography, oil painting, and finally, in 2000, I discovered watercolor and what a discovery it has been. I took courses with many teachers some from the CSA.

Being an aesthetician, at first, watercolor reminded me of make-up in some ways. Watercolor is a medium full of surprises. You're not always the master of your work. Watercolor is rebellions and water plays with you, bringing you surprises. Lines and colours can finally appear a lot differently than what you expected and you have to work hard to achieve what you want. It's the charm of watercolor, and it is that, and the transparency of watercolor that attracted me. I love painting landscapes that I know or that I imagine.

My goal is to improve my art and never forget to enjoy myself doing it. Painting watercolors is making myself a gift.
