Robert et Lisa Mc Neil exercent ensemble la profession de céramistes depuis 1993.

M. Robert McNeil, après une initiation à la céramique au CEGEP du Vieux-Montréal, poursuit sa formation au Banff Center of Fine Arts en Alberta et au Emily Carr College Art and Design de Vancouver.

Gradué avec honneur, il travaille ensuite avec le céramiste japonais de renom, Jun Kaneko, à l’Université de Cranbrook au Michigan et à Omaha, Nebraska.

Mme Lisa McNeil, initiée très jeune à la céramique par sa mère qui enseignait la matière à Régina en Saskatchewan, approfondit ses connaissanxces au Emily Carr College of Art and Design de Vancouver.

Parallèlement, elle poursuit des études en pâtisserie au George Brown of applied Arts and Technology à Toronto.

Robert et Lisa utilisent maintenant leur sens de l’esthétique pour donner un charme naïf et une fraîcheur toute méridionale. Tout leur travail est fait à la main et décoré à l’engobe sur de la faïence rouge et blanc.

Robert and Lisa McNeil began ceramics at CEGEP du vieux Montreal, continues at Banff Center of Fine Arts in Alberta and was then invited to Emily Carr College of Art and design in Vancouver where he graduated with honours in 3-D.

Afterwards, he apprenticed with Jun Kaneko, a well known Japanese ceramist, at the University of Cranbrook, Michigan and at Omaha, Nebraska.

Mrs Lisa McNeil was initiated very young by her mother who was a ceramist artist and teacher in Regina, Saskatchewan. Later on she attended Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver and then worked for several years as a pastry chef after completing baking studies at George Brown College of applied Arts and Technology in Toronto.

Now Robert et Lisa McNeil utilize their sensibility to give the pieces a naive charme and a fresh sense of meridional aesthetic. All of their work is hand made from white or red earthenware and is slip decorated.
