Born in Montreal, Suzanne Bélair grew up in Laval, and is now sharing her time between Austin and Kirkland Québec. At age 12, the love affair with oils began and she has been painting ever since.

After completing a certificate in fashion design and then studies in accounting, and while running a successful business, she studied with different artists and modern masters. As a biologist, she is actively involved in environment.

As a visual artist and a writer, Suzanne likes to reveal unexpected views of her sometimes traditional, sometimes unusual subjects. She likes to portray feelings, the hidden side of things, the struggle for life, the mystery of existence, as well as the importance and fragility of nature. A mostly figurative painter, her art is constantly evolving as she aims at bringing beauty and mystery in the viewer’s mind.

Through her art, she supports several causes, including the fight for cancer, environmental and animal protection.
