After studying and practising different forms of art for many years, Henriette
has devoted the past ten years exclusively to silk painting. She was first introduced to the techniques
of that art by Sylvi Bernadette, then she took several courses at the Centre Design & Imprssion Textile
in Montreal. She perfected herself in the United States by attending Susan Louise Moyer’s workshops, in
2001, and Jasen Pollen’s, in 2002. Fascinated by the great Japanese master’s techniques she thoroughly
study her art with Betsy Sterling Benjamin, in 2003, Shoukoh Kobayashi and Karla De Ketelaere, in 2005.
She learned Shibori with Anna Lisa Hedstrom, in 2006, and Joan Morris, in 2007. In order to create her
own textures, the same year,
she mastered the felting techniques under the supervision of Jorie Johnson
and Chad Alice Haegen. Henriette is a member of the Surface Design Association since 2003.
Forever inspired by the textures of nature, the colors of seasons, the whimsical
light, the playful abstract, she offers silk squares, shawls, fancy jackets, skirts, dresses and felted
pieces, as a reflections of her unusual encounter with nature.
