When I was a young boy, I became interest in pottery
because my family made roof tiles for traditional Japanese homes. Then
in my teen I went to an Arts University, and later I worked as graphic
artist and photographer.
After learning to capture nature on film, I turned
to pottery. I began to look at Shino-glazed wares made by Rosanjin ( Japan,
20 th century ), who was inspired by the freely brushed, reddish Shino-glazed
word called « fire colour » created by the anonymous Japanese potter's
of the Momoyama period (16th century). I am now working to find the Momoyama
potter's spirit and soul in the elements of the universe.
